The romantic place is located in the area of Landau/southern part of the German winestreet which is one of the warmest regions in Gemany. More than 1800 sunny hours in one year are the basis for a particularly good growth of wine, almonds, figues and even exotic kiwifriuts. All this can be seen in our Mediterranean garden arrangement.

Arzheim has nearly 1800 inhabitants and is part of the city of Landau which is meanwhile the largest wine-growing community in Germany. Arzheim itself has more than 430 ha wineyards. The mainly culitvated wines are Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and the most liked Riesling. The soil below the "Kleine Kalmit" contents a large percentage of soil and is therefore the best for Burgundy-wines – a speciality among the wines of Arzheim.

Arzheim's history is reaching back up to the Franconia time. It must have been a franconian settlement out of the time around 500 a. Chr. what is proven by evident findigs. The community was firstly named in a document in the 13th century. Do not miss to have a look to church which was inaugurated in 1903 and shows architectural styles of different ages and some half timbered houses out of the 18th and 19th century.

Nearby the "Kleine Kalmit" is located – a lime hill of 271 m whith its naturally protected area – culturally, geologically, botanically and zoo-logically very important.
